Booking Policies at Self Pivot - Individual/Couples Therapy

Greetings from Self Pivot,

This document serves to remind you of our policies regarding booking online therapy sessions.

Please take note of the following:

  1. Booking- Session can be directly booked and paid through the website. Session will be considered booked only when payment has been made. In case of error while making payment, you can email [email protected]. That can happen at times, due to technical difficulties or time lag between calendar booking and payment. Typically seen when the client books through the phone and there is a time lag in going to the backlink.
  2. Rescheduling/Cancellation: Sessions can be rescheduled or canceled directly via the website up to 24 hours before your session time. In case of any disruption in the same, you can email [email protected].
  3. Last-Minute Changes: Last-minute changes will not be accommodated except in emergency situations (e.g., health or family crises). In such cases, a new session must be booked. For emergency situations, you can choose a suitable time from the calendar or from a list of options sent to you via WhatsApp. We will make one attempt to reschedule. If you are unable to attend that slot, which has been decided upon by consensus, you will have to book a new slot altogether.
  4. Practitioner Rescheduling/Cancellation: If the practitioner needs to reschedule or cancel a session, you will be provided with the earliest available slot. You can choose a suitable time from the calendar or from a list of options sent to you via WhatsApp. If a rescheduled slot is decided upon by consensus and you are still unable to attend, the therapist will make one final attempt to reschedule.
  5. Refunds: Our first attempt will always be to reschedule, however if you wish to cancel, keeping in mind the above policies, we will initiate a refund within 48 hours. Refund request needs to be emailed to [email protected]. Refunds will be initiated, processed and sent to your bank account within 3-4 business days.
  6. Late Arrival: If you are late, the therapist will remind you via WhatsApp and email after waiting for the first 10 minutes. If there is no response, the session will be terminated after 30 minutes. No refunds will be initiated.
  7. Session Reminders: Reminder emails are automatically sent to clients. If you do not receive a reminder, a prior notification will be sent regarding the therapy session.
  8. Session Duration: Each session lasts 50 minutes. Please be mindful of the time.
  9. Offline Sessions in Kolkata: To book an offline session in Kolkata with Richa Mohta, please email [email protected]
  10. Invoices: To receive invoices for your sessions, please email [email protected]
  11. Dance Movement Therapy: To participate in dance movement therapy sessions or workshops in your city, please email [email protected].
  12. No Demo Sessions: We do not offer demo sessions. Any questions can be addressed during your first session.
  13. Psychological Assessment: If you are primarily reaching out for psychological assessment, in order to receive a diagnostic report and not for therapy sessions (or you are considering therapy at a later stage), please email [email protected] before booking an appointment.

Communication Policy

Emergency Situations: If you are experiencing a crisis, (defined as a situation where you are at immediate risk of harm to yourself or others), If the psychologist is busy in a meeting, drop a text, and the psychologist will call you back as soon as possible. Please call one of the following emergency helpline numbers if you happen to look for help immediately:

These helplines offer support for mental health crises and are available for immediate assistance.

Non-Emergency Situations: For non-emergency situations, it is advisable to reach out via text first. The psychologist will respond as soon as possible. Please understand and maintain boundaries; communication outside of scheduled sessions should not compensate for therapy.

Session Communication: Unless necessary, it is better to discuss most matters during your therapy sessions. This excludes homework notes and recommendations shared by the psychologist.                                                                                                                                       

Boundaries: Please be mindful that the psychologist’s availability outside of scheduled sessions is limited. The communication policy ensures that both parties maintain professional boundaries and the integrity of the therapeutic process.
